I’m still in the difficult territory (for me at least) of Marian hymns found in Gather Australia that I have not blogged already.
This is a clever text, even in translation from Didier Rimaud‘s French, by the tunesmith himself Christopher Willcock.
Catholics do construct an awful lot about Mary from very little biblical material. Pretty much the lot fits into these six verses.
The tune is sweet and takes some unexpected turns but it’s range is a little fierce. Maybe it could come down from Eb to C.
