At the recent APMN conference I attended a session about the Catholic Worship Book II that is coming out soon. Sr Jenny O’Brien went through some of the highlights and there were some very good songs. I worry they have missed the boat by a decade or so and the overall style of music is not going to work in the suburbs.
This song by John Bell and Graham Maule will be in the collection and I gather was written as a response to the Dunblane massacre.
If you need a song for a child’s funeral and someone can sing this all the way through without crying uncontrollably then it may be useful.
The marvellous text is here. The sheet music is available at GIA or in a collection at Willow Publications.
