Tom Hodgson is looking for a copy of this book.
I want to obtain the new living parish hymnal accompaniment book ( blue cover ) by Lucas set written in the late 1960’s. It is the hymnal I grew up with and I have been chasing one for over 20 years. Would anyone know where one is?
I have a copy I bought years ago at a Life Line book sale. I can’t find one on Abebooks.
I think it is what he is after but it is from 1987 and edited by John de Luca. There was the loose leaf “Living Worship Hymnal” that was also blue I suppose.
Any suggestions for Tom?
Tom, do you want to own a copy or just get access to one? It seems to be available through Trove (https://trove.nla.gov.au/version/14089170) – now, I’ve never used Trove but my sister in Cairns does so regularly, so I’m not familiar with the procedure. My Parish has a copy of the book, and I use it regularly. It has a lot of beautiful old Hymns in. It also has a chord chart and index of tunes, which is handy, as some hymns are set to the same tune as others. Like you, I grew up with a lot of these hymns, but am still finding lovely and easily-singable ones in there, and trying to slowly re-introduce them to our small non-choir congregation.
