I really like this hope filled song by Jared and Rebecca Haschek, which is No112 in AOV NG. It sounds country to me, like a classic John Denver song. The speed stated at 112 is too fast, ~100 is better. I think it would work to gather the assembly for mass beautifully.
Jared Haschek is the arranger of many of the songs found in this collection and they are both in the group, “Compliments of Gus.”
Verse 1
When you feel your day is at its end
When you pray for rest around each bendWhen the road you walk has been too long
May our love keep you strongVerse 2
When the words you speak have lost their flow
And both the sun and spirit lowWhen steps are hard and shadows long
May our love keep you strongChorus
May you find your shelter in these walls
Let us share your journey’s trials and joysMay your feet find rest when day is long
May the peace of God be in your songVerse 3
When you feel that all you know has changed
Seasons pass but truth remainsWhen times of hardship come along
May our love keep you strongChorus
Verse 4
When the light of life begins to fade
Christ be near and Christ proclaimHis mercy, grace, and peace live on
May his love keep you strongChorus x2
May the peace of God be in your song
May the peace of God be in your song

So glad to see that you enjoyed this song! Thanks for the encouraging words 🙂

Thanks for commenting, Jared.
We had a series of evenings where we went through selections from As One Voice Next Gen and your song was the hit song, if such a thing is possible. We had to do it every week.
Cheers
Geoff
I know I’m behind the times, but I’ve just heard this sing for the first time at Mass tonight…and I love it! I’m going to share it with a young couple about to embark on married life, and am thinking of making a framed cross-stitch of it for our home! Thank you Jared…just beautiful!
My sister suggested this for a blue Christmas service. It’s a very fitting song.
What’s a blue Christmas service?
Geoff
Our minister called it Not-so-Merry Christmas. Typically held around December 20th for the folks who aren’t feeling so holly and jolly. Christmas can be a difficult season for people suffering from loss. The song really blessed those in attendance.
