Tom Locksley provides No 109 in AOV NG, “See His Love.” The CDs have Tim Hughes version. I can’t find much about the songwriter on the net, there isn’t even anything in the bio section of AOV, but the song is popular enough.
The sheet music can be purchased for download at various sites on the net including musicnotes.
Stephanie Richmond’s version is here and there are plenty of others on Youtube. Mine is a bit grittier than Hughes’s version.
Verse 1
See His love nailed onto a cross
Perfect and blameless life given as sacrifice
See Him there all in the name of love
Broken yet glorious, all for the sake of usChorus
This is Jesus in His glory
King of Heaven dying for me
It is finished, He has done it
Death is beaten, Heaven beckons meVerse 2
Greater love no one could ever show
Mercy so undeserved, freedom I should not know
All my sin, all of my hidden shame
Died with Him on the cross, eternity won for usChorus
Bridge
Such love, such love
Such love is this for meChorus

Hi Geoff
I was sorry to see on your blog that you’ve had trouble with a new parish priest. I can relate, in a way. We’ve lost our beloved Fr Andrew, but our new priest, Fr Robert, isn’t a nightmare, and is just as supportive of our Music Ministry.
Anyway, I thought you might like to hear our choir’s version of See His Love. We sang it yesterday, at the Veneration. Sorry the quality isn’t great, but I only had my iPhone handy.

Good luck with your new church.

Thanks Mel. I hadn’t thought of this done like this with simple organ accompaniment but it sounds just right for veneration. Great work by the choir.
I’m playing along with the musicians at the parish I’m attending now and its fine.
