In my defence Chris, I was following the usage in the music book, and the convention has changed I believe. Still wrong though!

I would use the same as you – I thought the “James’s” was clumsy (in the insert) as were the Bridget Jones film titles. I’m getting old!
I gather current usage is James’s with the one exception of Jesus’, so clumsy has won out.
