“Draw Near!” was a new one for us this week. We learned the refrain last week, reviewed it this week, and had a cantor sing the verses today during mass. Next week, we’ll work on the verses before mass and everyone will join in singing them.
G’Day Ryan
I blogged “Draw Near” earlier this year but I’ve never sung it myself.

Good luck with it.

Entrance: Seek Ye First – Lafferty
Kyrie Lord Have Mercy – fourfold
Gloria Sacred Heart (Timothy R Smith) – I got this from you, working really well
Alleluia Pilgrim – Lawton

Holy Holy our usual
MoF “When we eat this bread” – ST COLUMBA
Amen folk
Communion: Instrumental “One Bread One Body”, then Eat This Bread – Taize with verses from somewhere (I didn’t recognise them)
Final I am the Bread of Life – Toolan
I don’t remember doing Timothy R Smith’s Mass of the Sacred Heart, Mary, are you sure.
We had “Eat This Bread” as second communion as well but didn’t get to it. I don’t mind doing the refrain as a chant, but each verse is different and I’ve always found it difficult.

Actually, you’re right. It wasn’t here. It was at this website: http://musicforsunday.com/2012/mass-setting-review-mass-of-the-sacred-heart-timothy-r-smith-ocp
Almost everything the guy there has written applies for me, too (except I grew into church music in the 80’s not the 90’s!). And the Glory to God from this Mass has been picked up incredibly well by our parish
