From the seemingly inexhaustible supply of liturgical music for funerals in CWB II there is this much loved song by Ernest Sands with a refrain based in In paradisum and verses from Psalm 27 (26).
The text is here. The sheet music can be purchased at OCP.
Can i have this music played and sung at my mother’s funeral in a Catholic Church
G’Day John
It is derived from the Requiem mass so I would have thought it entirely appropriate to be used at a Catholic funeral.

Thanks Geoffrey,
My problem is that it is copyrighted. A Catholic priest (Ernest Sands) wrote it but who do i go to in order to get permission. Who owns the copyright and does it extend to ordinary funerals? Do you happen to know if it is in a hymn book.
O I see.
Most Catholic churches have One Licence to cover copyright and this song is in One Licence. If not you can purchase an individual licence from them.

Hymnary lists the hymnals in addition to Catholic Worship Book II in Australia:

Breaking Bread, Journey Songs and Glory and Praise are widely available but if your musicians don’t have the sheet music is can be purchased for download at OCP.

I hope that helps.
