I’ll do a couple more from this collection then give the P&W a rest. This actually is a song based on passages in Matthew by Graham Kendrick and isn’t praise and worship at all, in fact it is the sort of song an assembly could actually sing and it could even have liturgical uses.
The text is at Kendrick’s site and I couldn’t find it to purchase for download anywhere but it is at least in “The Source : New Songs”.
This one is a good one. I am surprised about the Matthew scripture references when it comes straight from St Paul to the Philippians (2:6-11) which is the 2nd reading on Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord.
When I was looking for the lyrics on Google it went straight to Phillippians as you suggest, but I was lazy and just took Kendrick’s word for it on his site that there must have been some tangential reference to Matthew as well. On checking them there isn’t, so it must just be an error.
thanks
Geoff

That’s the right book. It’s listed under its other title “Let the Same Mind”.
I think it is rather out of place in this book, but as Kendrick complied the book he is entitled to slip a good song of his own in.
