Here, In the Dawning (Proclaim the Favour of God) SNS 16

This song from The Source New Songs is by A. Smith, Johnny Markin, and Chris Bowater.  I don’t usually put lyrics up anymore but this song doesn’t seem well known yet it should be. It’s pretty singable, although you might want to bring it down from G to F, and might even have liturgical uses, Advent springs to mind.

I can only find it for sale in this collection, but The Source New Songs is available for purchase on line.

Verse 1

Here in the dawning of hope, in the wake of a rising wave,

Clear, from the throne of our God comes a strength for approaching days.

We have a house God has called us to build, we have a challenge before us.

Raise up your standard in days such as these, for the year of his favour has come.

Refrain

Proclaim the favour of God.

Make known the justice of God.

Comfort the mourning, provide for the grieving,

Bestowing a crown of beauty.

Proclaim the favour of God.

Display the splendour of God.

Healing the hurting as hope is returning, declaring the day of our God.

Verse 2

Rise, for the light which has come is the glory that shines on you.

See, though the darkness is strong, yet the nations will come to your light.

We have a house God has called us to build, we have a challenge before us.

Raise up your standard in days such as these, for the year of his favour has come.

Refrain
