A song written for Hillsong by Russell Fragar. Also known as “Love You So Much” it is another slow P&W song as you can see here. When I was blogging “As One Voice: the Next Generation” last year, the only song choices I got grumpy about were the Hillsong ones, so I obviously have a blind spot in that area and I should refrain from further comment.
Verse 1
Hear these praises from a grateful heart
Each time I think of You
The praises start
Love You so much, Jesus
Love You so muchVerse 2
Lord, I love You, my soul sings
In Your presence
Carried on Your wings
Love You so much, Jesus
Love You so muchChorus
How my soul longs for you
Longs to worship You forever
In Your power and majesty
Lift my hands, lift my heart
Lift my voice towards the heavens
For You are my sun and shieldVerse 1

Russell Fragar did not write this song, I know because I wrote it and somehow Russell and Hillsong stole it from me. God Bless you
Can you prove that you wrote it? Sounds suspicious to me by waiting 16 years before claiming you wrote it.
That’s the thing with copyright and folk songs (by which I mean ones transmitted between individuals with no attribution) – eventually someone does publish and claims the work as their own. It’s quite possible that Karl did write it. But because he didn’t protect it, Hillsong were able to label it as copyright to them. This was especially true in pre-internet days.
Whoever wrote it doesn’t really matter to me but how the song connects me to my loving God. I think we should all be driven by our love for Him rather than fight for recognition which adds nothing to Him. Nobody gets anything except he be given from above, as His children let’s leave copyright issues and praise Him gives everything freely. However, kudos to Karl, Russell and Hillsong. Someone wrote another popularized and the Lord is magnified.
