As it looks back to the religious strife at the reformation in England, I hope we can sing it to honour the Anglican martyrs as well as Catholic martyrs these days.
Inclusive language alert! When we updated our 20+ year old GIA Worship 3 hymnals to Worship 4 last November, we lost the classic text. GIA now uses “A Living Faith” instead, which retains the first verse of the classic text and adds additional verses about mothers, sisters, and brothers.
