Basically the same as 2014, which is fine by me.
I’m still interested in what other parishes have selected if people wish to share.

How can I download some of the instrumentals on your website?
Mostly very similar to last year, with a few twitches depending on what the day’s musician knew.
Except – Good Friday was lead by the brand-new youth choir, trained by the young, enthusiastic and traditionalist new curate. They did an amazing job, learning four new-to-them hymns in only three practises. However there was zero congregational participation, because people didn’t know any of the hymns (I thought they would know “When I Survey”, but nope). We’ll need to work on a more balanced repertoire in future things they do.
Holy Thursday:
Mass parts mostly Missal chants
Gathering: I am the Bread of Life (Toolan)
Psalm: read
Washing of the feet: I Heard the Voice of Jesus Calling (Bell / Iona)
Offertory: In Bread we Bring You Lord was planned, but left out because things moved too quickly
Communion: Sweet Sacrament Divine
Transference to the altar of repose: Jesus Remember Me (Taize)
Good Friday
Prayer response
– O Lord hear us we pray, O Lord give us your love (unknown)
Veneration of the Cross:
– When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
– Lord Jesus Think on Me
Communion:
– My Song is Love Unknown – the LOVE UNKOWN tune
– At the Cross her Station Keeping
Easter Vigil
Mass parts – a mixture
Exultet: Missal chant, by the traditionalist young curate who did it well
Gloria: Sacred Heart (Timothy R Smith)
Psalms – ahh, … can’t remember, but we sung responses!
Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia Alleuia Give Thanks (Fishel – 3 verses)
Litany of the Saints – not sure whose version this was, musician found it.
Offertory: Rejoice in the Lord Always
Communion: Seek Ye First (Lafferty)
Recessional: Sing a New Song (Schutte) – this didn’t go well, not as well know as expected
Easter Sunday:
Mass parts mostly Missal chants, Glendalough Holy Holy
Entrance: Seek Ye First (Lafferty)
Gloria – Missa de Angelis (very traditional – and the only one our musician for the day knows)
Psalm: Alleluia Alleluia Give thanks to the Risen Lord – Fishel
Offertory: Be Still and Know
Communion: Some instrumental Carolyn tunes, then Close to you (Glynn) – chosen because it’s so well know, rather than for Easter as such
Recessional:Because He Lives – Gaither (another choice for popularity rather than quality!)
Easter Sunday- teen choir
open: Jesus Christ is Risen Today (easter hymn)
sequence: Christ, the Lord, Is Risen Today (victimae paschali)
sprinkling: Baptized in Water (Saward; bunessan)
offertory: Worthy is the Lamb (Manalo)
communion: Roll away the Stone (Conry), Song of the Body of Christ (Haas), I am the Bread of Life (Toolan)
closing: Alleluia! Alleluia! (Wordsworth; hymn to joy)
I know its months late but i was listening to these hymns on my ipod again so thought I would share anyway! 🙂
What a lovely idea…thankyou.
