A gorgeous tune by Robyn Horner for Eucharist. There is a sample to listen to at AOV.
My backing is at 110 bpm and has her counter melody that introduces the song reappearing in the third verse.
Refrain
Bread broken, wine shared; Jesus, here,
Taking our lives, opening our hearts, making us whole,
Setting our loving free.
Verse 1
Take all our dreams, all that we are,
All we could ever be.
Lord of all life, we want to be Yours,
We take bread and eat.
Refrain
Verse 2
Open our minds, open our hearts,
Let love set us free within.
Lord of all life, we want to be Yours,
We pour wine and drink.
Refrain
Verse 3
Make us alive, filled with Your hope,
Living what’s really true.
Lord of all life, we want to be Yours,
We know this is You.

*text corrected 8/7/23 by Sam – thanks.
Please, how can I get a copy of your backing track? I am a teacher at a Catholic school and would love for our children’s voices to be featured in our masses.
Please let me know as soon as possible – I am happy to purchase it. 🙂
Thanks Geoff for posting this one – very little web presence but one of my favourites.
A recording of the song can be found in a livestream Mass by the Diocese of Lismore: https://youtu.be/SLhF88j1HyE?t=1978.
Just pointing out one typo above – line 2 of verse 1 should just be “All we could ever be” (no extra “that”). Lots of people must’ve visited this page and copied the lyrics because I’ve seen that typo pop up in lots of places (including in the livestream above and on my own parish’s projector for ages).
Thanks, Sam.
We are all looking for shortcuts to prepare overheads for masses, but it’s a pity no-one noticed my error until now. I have seen sheet music that I made for myself years before somehow turn up at other parishes and I shudder to think where some of my dodgy backings have wound up.
It is a nice song. I think she went into other areas of interest.
cheers
Geoff
