Purpose
I've worked my way through the As One Voice books and other collections making backings on Band in a Box to help me (& you if you're interested) learn new songs for church. This is aimed at churches and musicians that own the collections but haven't exploited them fully. If you don't have them they are certainly worth buying. This site is educational, nonprofit and designed to enhance the commercial prospects of songwriters. This site does not distribute copyrighted sheet music.Disclaimer
Any opinions expressed here are personal views and not the responsibility of any Church.
All music backings posted are created by myself and the intention is for them to be used to learn the songs. If any copyright holder wishes me to cease publicising and promoting their wares and directing people to where sheet music can be legally purchased please let me know.Mason’s “Mass of Glory and Praise”
To access my backings for Paul Mason's mass go to Feb 2011 in the archive.-

This is a text by Thomas Aquinas that deSilva has set to a tune he learned in India at school. His sheet music is here. Hymnary have more background and other settings. BIAB made up the chords and I made … Continue reading

Hail, Holy Queen by Chris deSilva
This is Chris deSilva’s tasteful adaption of “Salve Regina”. The sheet music is here. My backing is BIAB strings noodling under the melody. Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we … Continue reading

Answering the Call by Chris deSilva
Chris deSilva has been very involved with the RCIA in Perth and this song certainly relates to that ministry. It also would be a good recessional (esp vs 2&4) with its focus on discipleship. The sheet music is here at … Continue reading

Make a Highway by Chris deSilva
I’m having a good time blogging the works of Chris deSilva from Perth. His songs are liturgically useful and able to be sung, which is a good combination. The verses of “Make a Highway” match the weeks in Advent so … Continue reading

We Are One by Chris deSilva
This is another communion song by Chris deSilva from Perth that is really very good indeed. The text fits the singable tune in a range that won’t upset the assembly. It is in E but I would be lazy and … Continue reading

Let the Clouds by Chris deSilva
Chris deSilva has written a processional song for Advent. He suggests it could also be used for communion in that season as well and that sounds fair. There are variations in the verses but not so much that a cantor … Continue reading

Forty by Chris deSilva
This song is an exquisite piece for Lent by Chris deSilva. It is a fascinating piece of writing with the same tune for each verse but a different chord progression. The text goes from years to days to hours in … Continue reading

Christ is Risen by Chris deSilva
Continuing this series on the songs by Chris deSilva from Perth is this Easter song. The sheet music and sound files are here. I would probably bring this down from the key of C to A to enhance participation considering … Continue reading
