Purpose
I've worked my way through the As One Voice books and other collections making backings on Band in a Box to help me (& you if you're interested) learn new songs for church. This is aimed at churches and musicians that own the collections but haven't exploited them fully. If you don't have them they are certainly worth buying. This site is educational, nonprofit and designed to enhance the commercial prospects of songwriters. This site does not distribute copyrighted sheet music.Disclaimer
Any opinions expressed here are personal views and not the responsibility of any Church.
All music backings posted are created by myself and the intention is for them to be used to learn the songs. If any copyright holder wishes me to cease publicising and promoting their wares and directing people to where sheet music can be legally purchased please let me know.Mason’s “Mass of Glory and Praise”
To access my backings for Paul Mason's mass go to Feb 2011 in the archive.-

Blessing the Marriage (AOV 2/35)
An unexpectedly delightful tune to bless a marriage from John Bell and Graham Maule at the Wild Goose Resource Group. Set to the traditional Sussex Carol, it would enhance any wedding. Get the flavour in the acappella snippet at the … Continue reading

I Know that my Redeemer Lives (AOV 2/34)
A song based on Job the Psalms and Isaiah from Scott Soper. You can hear the original here. It survives without a cantor (eg here) 1. I know that my Redeemer lives, the One who calls me home. I long to … Continue reading

Travel On (AOV 2/33)
A folk song from the sixties from Sydney Carter, a songwriter best known for “Lord of the Dance.” His Guardian obituary is fascinating. The kingdom of heaven as a journey is well sung in this allusive song where the repetition … Continue reading

Sing Out, Earth and Skies (AOV 2/32)
This is a Marty Haugen song I’ve never got quite right. This is what it is meant to sound like. I always played it 4/4 instead of cut common and that makes it flounder somewhat. You have to admire the … Continue reading

Jesus Lives! (AOV 2/29)
The snippet at AOV of Christopher Walker’s song, “Jesus Lives!” has a childrens’ choir, organ and brass. I suspect all it really needs is the children. OCP lists Paule Freeburg as a co-author who is uncredited in AOV. The sample music … Continue reading

I Will Sing and Make Music (AOV 2/28)
When I get to songs by icons like Br Colin Smith, I acknowledge a degree of cheek in attempting his sort of music on Band in a Box. A portion of this stirring song can be heard at AOV here. … Continue reading

When I get a chance I’ll put up what is to be played each week at our local Catholic church. We have four liturgy teams that put together music to match each Mass for each week. I’m part of one … Continue reading
